Erica & Danny's wedding @ Coto de Casa 4-20-13

Erica & Danny were married at the Coto de Casa Golf & Racquet Club last Saturday, with family & friends coming from Texas, Northern and Southern California.

It was a beautiful and classy wedding exactly at their image.

When you meet them, first instantly, you feel that they are truly in love and then, you are stunned by their beautiful smiles and their kindness.

The weather was gorgeous, the really first day of summer!

We started the ceremony with “ Hey Ho” from the Lumineers, which was a perfect song to introduce the Bridal Party and the beautiful flower girls ! ...You know…“I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart”…

And then a gorgeous Erica, appeared, she walked down the aisle with her proud father on “I love NYE” by Badly Drawn Boys.

After exchanging their vows they left on “You’re my best friend” by Queen! Great Choice!

For their cocktail hour, they wanted a swanky/lounge playlist so we came up with the following songs:

Lovely Day
Bill Withers
Got To Give It Up (Part 1)
Marvin Gaye
The Girl From Ipanema
Astrud Gilberto
Suspicious Minds
Elvis Presley
Tighten Up
The Black Keys
Madness
Muse
The Way You Look Tonight
Frank Sinatra
Hotel California (Spanish Mix)
Gipsy Kings
Adorn
Miguel
The Look Of Love
Diana Krall
This Must Be The Place
Talking Heads
Stuck In The Middle
Stealers Wheel
Float On
Modest Mouse
Out Of My League
Fitz & The Tantrums
Walking On A Dream
Empire of the Sun
Get Lucky
Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams
Locked Out of Heaven
Bruno Mars
Staple It Together
Jack Johnson

We thought that with this playlist, we could give a little dynamic to Cocktail hour, still playing Classic Standards but also adding a little modern switch!

Then for their great entrance, they choose “At Last” by Etta James, which is by far, one of the best love song ever, just listening to the lyrics give me the chills:
You smiled, you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
for you are mine...”

Erica’s pick for her Father/Daughter song was “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, this song brings tears all the time….

Danny, on another hand chose “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin, for his special Mother/ Son Dance.
Danny and his mum surprised all the guests with a choreography typical from Italy, not to mention that both his parents are from Italian descendants, that was a very sweet touch to honor his Italian roots.

And we launched the dance floor!

The musical highlight of the night came from the Bride herself and her Kappa Kappa Gamma’ Sorority Sisters: they took over the dance floor and starting to do the "Rowdy Do"!

Immediately followed by the groom and his fellows Texans best men (and his sister!)  from A&M University who gave us a great dance on their favorite song “Texas Aggie War Arm”.
(FYI: the song was also used by NASA Flight Director Gerry Griffin to wake up astronauts in space from 1983 to 1995!)

The Dance  floor was packed and both the bride and groom showed the crowd that they have moves! We were super impressed!
We are thinking to hire them for future gigs as our dancers, lol!

We ended the set with “Party Rock Anthem” and invite the people to light up some sparklers for the newlyweds exit!

We had a great, great, great time!

Congrats again Mr& Mrs Danny and Erica M., that was, for sure, a Special Night!

7th- 8th graders Dance at All Hallows Academy in La Jolla

That was our first time being the DJs for 7th - 8thgrade dance and our main concern was to make these kids happy as it's the most important dance of middle school.

The 8th graders are leaving next   year for junior high.

We wanted to deliver an enjoyable and memorable experience.

The best sign is we never saw the dance floor empty!!!

From the Thrift Shop' song,
the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Boogie
(Thanks to Miss Smigs who was the choreographer!)
to Icona POP, boys and girls were shaking on the Dance Floor!

Everybody went crazy on the Harlem Shake ( watch the YouTube video bellow)

These kids have moves!

Alice was the Big Winner of our Limbo contest!

Got to mention the great energy of the chaperons on duty: Miss Smigs and Miss Underkofler!

And of course a BIG Applause to the awesome Mrs Mary Alice Fares and Sofia the Student Council Officer who organized the party.

We had an awesome time.

Pre Summer Work Out!

Happy Friday!

Not to make you feel guilty before the weekend, BUT I thought that a great playlist for a great workout is MANDATORY to loose these French pastries that I ate during my business meeting at the FRENCH GOURMET in Pacific Beach!

We met with Edith (yes like Edith Piaf!!!) to discuss the possibility of getting referrals through this beautiful restaurant. They cater all the major events throughout San Diego County, and of course I couldn’t resist to these cute Macarrons !

So if you're getting in shape for your wedding or honeymoon ( or being prepared for a busy summer season like me! )You need some tunes to get you goin' for that run/weights/kickboxing workout. Whatever works for you! ;-)

ENJOY THIS MIX, 130 beats per minute front to back  guaranteed to help give you that boost to make it through the last mile.

Warning: There's some dirty words in "Pursuit of Happiness" & "N**as in Paris."

And please drink A LOT ….of water!
