Sophia + Andres | U.S GRANT- Downtown San Diego | Saturday, August 1st2015

We had the immense pleasure to be part of Andres and Sophia's wedding at the U.S Grant in downtown San Diego.

The U.S Grant is named after President Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States, who disapproved of the treatment of the Indians of the American West and passed in 1891  the "Act for the Relief of the Mission Indians" which officially recognized the sovereign status of California's Indian Tribes.

This elegant and sophisticated couple had envisioned a ceremony inside the Crystal Ballroom, build in 1927 mostly known for its beautiful  travertine floor, embellished European plasterwork, and a hand-painted ceiling.
Their ceremony was very mystical - that was accented by the flow of candles all along the isle.

We had this feeling to be in a crypte in Europe. It was gorgeous.

After vows were exchanged, the guests were invited to join cocktail hour. Our newlyweds had chosen Postmodern Jukebox to entertain their guests.

Then, the Reception was held in the Celestial Ballroom. The vaulted ceilings and the grand colomns give and 1930's feeling (especially with the uplighting) kind of the Rococo Era, with all its splendor and chic. Candles and golden signs were added to give even more a feeling to be back in time during the prohibition Era- the room was build in the 30s.

Followed a great night of dancing.

Our newlyweds had chosen all the songs. They had some very specific requests and we were extremely happy about them as they really matched our personal tastes as well with some of our personal favorites tunes! We will keep their playlist for own party! ;-)

We open the dancefloor with a traditional Hungarian dance song: "Karpatia palinka dal" to honor Sophia's heritage.

Then it was a great night of dancing with a lot of energy!

We absolutely adored working for Andres and Sophia!
So much that we wished we were guests at their wedding !

We are wishing them a long life of Love and Happiness together!

The wedding was orchestrated by the Talented Petr Trebin from The Abbey Catering and Event Design.

Lauren + Keven | Wedding Bowl & Cuvier Club | Thursday, July 30th 2015

It was a beautiful day in La Jolla.

Keven and Lauren hired us to be their DJs and Emcee for their very special day!

They choose the wedding bowl to exchange their vows of eternity in front of their family and friends.

Our newlyweds and their guests headed to the lovely Cuvier Club in the heart of La Jolla for the Reception.

The evening was full of surprises, and it was quite a challenge to keep it a secret from our bride.

Her maid of honor, Bella, had put a choreography together, to describe their first encounter untill the day of the wedding.

6 dancers recreated Keven and Lauren's love story, it was beautifully done and very touching... tears....

Then our groom Keven had recorded a song to serenade his newly bride, all the guests were invited on the dancefloor for a romantic dance.
Keven'serenade

Then Lauren, Keven and their guests got loose on the dancefloor all night long!

What a fantastic night!

We are wishing Lauren and Keven, a long life of Love and Happiness together with their awesome children and loved ones.

Laura + Sean | Wedding Bowl & Cuvier Club | Sunday, July 26th 2015

It was our great pleasure to entertain Laura and Sean's wedding at the Cuvier Club.

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Wedding Bowl overlooking the Ocean.

The Maid of Honor read a French Poem in French: perfect accent, they actually met in French Class at UCSD with our bride! Just sayin....

Then our stunning couple and their guests headed to the Cuvier Club, in the heart of La Jolla for their reception!

Great Party!
Laura & Sean love to go to Cahoots, so naturally we played a lot of country music!
And we've learned that you can line-dance to any kind of music, not just country!

Wishing Laura and Sean a lot of of Love and Happiness in Texas surrounded by all their animals!

We had the immense pleasure the close the National Ovarian Cancer Conference @The Westin- Dowtown San Diego on Saturday, July 25th 2015.

After 2 long days of conferences about research and treatments, our patients, caregivers and survivors had a blast on the dancefloor!

We were so proud to be part of this very special moment.

We felt so lucky to witness the joy of all the participants and allow them to forget for a couple of hours about their daily life and their disease.

Sandi + Craig | The San Diego Rowing Club | Mission Bay | Sunday, July 19th 2015

We were so excited to be the entertainment for Sandi and Craig's wedding at the beautiful San Diego Rowing Club.

It was a rainy day, and for sure it didn't stop our newlyweds to have the best day ever even if the weather wasn't shiny and warm.

We were very impressed with our newlyweds attitude. It was quite a metaphor for marriage.

The unexpected can happen and you have to face it, they did it with a beautiful smile and a lot of elegance.

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because…

Rain represents many things in different cultures – most of which include fertility, cleansing, unity, renewal, and tears. Here’s a look at all possible scenarios that I’ve gathered.

  • Fertility

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that you will have children.

This belief came about since rain ultimately waters the ground and lends to fertility, thus allowing growth of plants and vegetation.

  • Cleansing

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies the cleansing of tough times or sadness in your past.

Sources say this since rain tends to wash away dirt and even pollution.

  • Unity

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last.

As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel! We can thank Hindu traditions for this belief.

  • Renewal

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies washing away of bad memories or occurrences and, in effect, gives you a completely new, fresh chapter in your life.

You know that refreshing scent after the rain, just when the sun starts peaking back through the clouds? That “new day” feeling is where this belief came from – that your wedding will truly be the beginning of a new chapter in your lives.

  • Tears

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it symbolizes the last tears that the bride will shed for the rest of her life.

We are wishing Sandi and Craig a long life of Love & Happiness together!

rain is often considered a symbol of fertility. Water helps things grow. A couple may hope that one day their marriage will be blessed with children.
Rain also is symbolic of a new start. The water can cleanse the earth and help wash away past debris. A marriage is a new start for a couple. If it rains on your wedding day, consider yourself blessed with a clean slate.
