Holiday Party: Animal Behavior College- Van Nuys- 12-14-13

We were so excited to be a part of The Animal Behavior College Holiday Party.

When we heard that they chose the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant in Van Nuyswe couldn't wait to do our first event there!

The Animal Behavior College is  the largest vocational school specializing in animal career training programs.
As dog lovers ourselves we were delighted to entertain animal lovers!

Nestled in the heart of Van Nuys and adjacent to the world's busiest general aviation airport is the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant.

The day of the event we were so happy to see how everyone was working as a team to bring this event together. Debbie Brown, the94th Aero Squadron Catering Director, and her staff were great to work with.
Cristina Acuna, The Animal Behavior College’s Human Resources Manager, did a great job planning this Holiday Party and putting the event together for 150 people.

We had planned 2 playlists for the cocktail hour and the dinner.
An Eclectic mix of modern and classics songs with the the traditional Holidays tunes.

When we first spoke to the client and talked about our services they asked about Karaoke.
So we decided to use Karafun Software, and were able to offer a catalogue of over 17,000 songs, we provided the wireless microphone.
We had the great pleasure to listen to Cristina Acuna and Steven Applebaum, the Animal Behavior College’CEO! Great voices!

Once they were all happy and full Ryan kicked off the dancing!

This Holiday Party was a great success and it was so nice from Steve Applebaum to demonstrate his appreciation and thoughtfulness to the people who helped his business!

Weddings Celebration- Private Estate- Encinitas- 11-23-13

For the 1st time in Glasz Productions history we had a Double Wedding!

Jeffrey & Rosely, and Jeff & Lauren were our 2 beautiful couples last Saturday.

When we say a double- wedding that means that we were the DJs for 2 post weddings celebrations.

These 2 couples got married in Colorado and San Jose last summer.

Their parents, John & Sue, contacted us to be part of their event in Encinitas.

It was a gorgeous day and the setting was lovely as we could see the ocean from the reception location!

"I Feel Good"by James Brown was their choice for their Grand Entrance.

After a fantastic meal provided by Edith from the French Gourmet and some heartfelt toasts and we enchained with their first dances.

As soon as they started to dance,we all witnessed a beautiful orange sunset as the sun went down over the ocean! Such a magical moment!

And we started the dancefloor.

We included classics like "Do you love me" by the Contours and "Shout" by The Isley Bros. as well as newer hits like "Wake me up" by Avicii & "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke.

The dancefloor was crowded from the beginning till the end!

We had so much fun with the guests!

A special thank you to Rick & Sandy for their great energy and their hospitality!

Congratulations to our 4 newlyweds and their parents!

7th-8th Grade Dance- All Allows Academy- La Jolla- 11-22-13

For the second time this year, we had the great pleasure to be the DJs for the 7th-8th graders of All Hallows Academy in La Jolla.

Ryan did a great job at keeping the kids on the dance floor, answering requests and play two and a half hours straight through all the madness. Awesome!

To be prepared, we asked the students in advance their requests.

We were amazed that they requested Disclosure, The Neighbourhood, Adrian Lux, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki & Afrojack!

Zedd, The Bloody Beetroots Feat. S Aoaki & Avicii were, of course, also requested.

We felt we were at the Pacha in Ibiza for a minute!

With the age of iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and Social Media, this "Generation Z" kids know exactly what they want to hear as they are highly connected and it was crucial for us to be extremly prepared!

We also had a limbo contest won by ..the boys!

We love these kids! We had so much fun and felt that were 14 years old again!

A special thanks to Mrs. Mary Alice Fares who is a great teacher and a special thank you also, to our best chaperons: Miss Underkofler & Miss Smiggs, the Macarena Expert!

It was a Great Party!

2013 Walk to Defeat ALS®- Irvine- 10-19-13

For the 6th year in a row, we had the privilege to be part of the 13th edition of The Walk to Defeat ALS® in Irvine.

According to the Orange County Register an estimated 1,600 people paraded around William R. Mason Regional Park on Saturday with signs and banners bearing the names of friends and family afflicted with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.

Lou Gehrig first brought national and international attention to the disease in 1939 when he abruptly retired from baseball after being diagnosed with ALS. Most commonly, the disease strikes people between the ages of 40 and 70, and as many as 30,000 Americans have the disease at any given time.

The 13th annual 5K walk, sponsored by ALS Association Orange County Chapter, was organized to let people show support for loved ones living with the fatal neuromuscular disease and honor those lost to it.

The Laker Girls responded present to show their support! It was a memorable moment especially went they jumped on stage and showed us their moves!

It was a successful event as the initial goal was to raised $165K, and by the end of the walk, the amount of $210K was proudly announced.

This event wouldn't have been possible without the great staff of The ALS Association Orange County Chapter' staff: Jared M. Mullins-Executive Director, Natalie Villegas-Patient Services & Denise Greek-Walk & ePhilanthropy Coordinator.

We wish with all our heart that soon, a cure will be found and we will live in a world without ALS disease anymore!

Bodie & Sarah's Elegant & Chic Wedding. Private Estate- Tustin Hills- 10-12-13

Last Saturday, Bodie & Sarah celebrated their wedding reception at a Private Estate In Tustin Hills in serious style.

Dr & Mrs. F, were so generous to host a 250 people celebration in their private mansion in Tustin Hills. Their house is the oldest of Tustin and was built in 1921. The exquisite Tuscan Style property  dominates a beautiful French garden.

Even if they were 250 guests, this wedding felt very intimate.

As Sarah & Bodie are music lovers, their choices of music for the dances were very special and emotional.

"Wild Horses" from the Rolling Stones were their First Dance, then Sarah showed her guests that she had great moves as she danced to "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" from the Cannonball Adderly with her brothers Cam and  Michael.

Bodie then danced with his adorable daughter " Amelina" to IZ "Take Me Home Country Road'.
To watch this beautiful little girl flying in the air was enchanting.

Then we played "Forever Young" Bob Dylan for Bodie and his mother.

After the Anniversary Song "At Last" from Etta James, we opened the dancefloor.

This bride and groom danced the night away with their guests behind the gates of the most beautiful house on Tustin Hills while DJ Ryan ravaged the turntables.

Congrats Sarah & Bodie! Enjoy your honeymoon in.....Paris!

Wedding Wednesday: how to pick your wedding DJ?

Happy Fall!

Did you know that most marriage proposals (approximately 39 percent) take place between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day?

To hire a DJ for a wedding reception is as important as other tasks. Music adds more enjoyment and magic to the evening. Music can create happiness and joy in the occasion.

These are important questions to ask a DJ:
  • What equipment do you use? If you need a sound system for the ceremony, can you provide this as well? (You want professional equipment that is loud enough but not overpowering.
  • Are you a DJ that will stay in the background making necessary announcements or will you be visible and more of a performer? (It's usually the couple who should be getting the attention, but some couples do enjoy a DJ who is the center of attention.)
  • What will you wear? (Make sure he knows how you want him to dress.)
  • How is the music selected? Do you have a wide variety of songs available? Can I have a list of songs I do not want played?
  • How do you handle the events of the evening? (It's important to know how the transitions from one activity to another will occur.)
  • How often will you need to take a break? Will music be playing during these breaks?
  • Some DJ companies have more than one DJ. Which DJ will be at my wedding?
  • Will you be bringing a table that will need a tablecloth?
  • Will you play music as the guests are arriving and during cocktail hour and meal?
  • Do you provide a wireless microphone to use for speeches?
  • Do you have liability insurance?
  • How early will you be there to set up?
  • Do you have references we may contact?
                           STAY GLASZY!
